Black History Month

Supporting Oja Dance Troupe this Black History Month

On 4th October 2025, the Oja Dance Troupe will take center stage in a powerful celebration of culture, history, and community for Black History Month. Known for their vibrant performances that weave together tradition, rhythm, and storytelling, Oja Dance Troupe continues to use the arts not only as entertainment but as a platform for social impact.

This year’s event carries a special purpose—supporting the fight against period poverty. Across the UK and globally, too many young people face barriers to education, dignity, and wellbeing simply because they cannot access menstrual products. By dedicating this performance to raising awareness and support for this issue, Oja Dance Troupe shines a light on a cause that demands attention and collective action.

The upcoming performance promises to be more than just a cultural showcase—it is an invitation for us all to stand together, celebrate heritage, and contribute to change. Supporting this event means supporting both the preservation of culture and the empowerment of those most in need.

We encourage everyone to come along, celebrate Black History Month, and stand with Oja Dance Troupe in their mission to combine art with advocacy. Together, we can transform celebration into meaningful action, ensuring no young person is held back by period poverty.

Mark the date: 4th October 2025. Be there. Be part of the change
